  1. Sen. Oluremi Tinubu sought for and was granted the leave of the Senate to move a motion on the death of Brigadier-General Mobolaji Johnson the First Military Governor of Lagos State. Motion was approved for presentation and taken.

The Senate resolved to:

  1. To observe a one-minute silence in honour of the dead;
  2. To send a delegation to commensurate with the family of the deceased.

  1. Sen. Mohammed Adamu Bulkachuwa sought for and was granted the leave of the Senate to move a motion on the death of Hajia Jumai Tafawa Balewa the last surviving wife of Late Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Nigeria’s First Prime Minister Motion was approved for presentation and taken.

The Senate resolved to:

  1. To observe a one-minute silence in honour of the dead;
  2. To send a delegation to commensurate with the Government of Bauchi State and the Emirate;
  • The State and Federal Government to Immortalize her.

  • That the Senate do receive and consider the report of the Committee on Niger Delta on the confirmation of Appointment of the 16 nominees as Chairman and members of the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in accordance to section 2 (2) (a) of the NDDC Act, 200.

The Senate resolved into the committee of the whole to consider the report.

The Senate in the Committee of a Whole and Plenary, considered, approved and confirmed the nominees with the exception of Dr. Joy Yimebe Nunieh representing Rivers State who did not appear the screening.
