The SERVICOM Presidency Office, has stated that service delivery is no longer a choice as Nigerians expects more from the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
The National Coordinator /Chief Executive Officer (NC/CEO) SERVICOM Presidency, Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli made the statement at the Inauguration of the Parastatal SERVICOM Unit/Committee Members of Rural Electrification Agency (REA) in Abuja on Thursday 3rd October, 2024.
She maintained that the Agency should promote rural electrification as well as co-ordinate its programmes and ensure that service delivery cuts across board even in the remotest communities in the country.
This she said, would ensure customer – centred satisfaction in the quality of services rendered by the Agency to indigent citizens in rural communities.
The National Coordinator reassured the Agency, that this measure would add value to Mr President’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of this administration.
She Added, that the Agency should promote and coordinate Rural Electrification Programmes in the country. And administer the Rural Electrification Fund (REF) to promote, support and provide rural electrification through public and private sector participation, such as policy formulation, fund mechanisms, stakeholders engagement and project implementation that are citizens centered.
She further reiterated the need for the Agency to establish Call /contact centres, across the length and breadth of Nigeria, that would create avenues for connectedness with the rural dwellers.
She further explained that customers are also citizens who are the life blood of any organization, hence MDAs should recognize that improving the quality of service is no longer a choice but imperative.
According to her, “Citizens today are more aware of their rights, to have better access to information on public services and consequently have higher expectations such as 24hours electricity supply.”
Akajemeli maintained that SERVICOM is the Customer Service arm of the Government, hence, a solution provider and an answer to fill in when Nigerian citizens experience poor public service gaps.
“We are here today to entrench the culture of service excellence in Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and we are enthroning the Committee here today, so that they can begin to add more value and ensure improvements in the quality of services rendered in the Agency.
In his welcome address, the Managing Director/CEO Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Abba Abubabkar Aliyu, stated that, SERVICOM and quality service is a serious business that must be inculcated within the mandate of the Agency.
He informed the Coordinator of his zeal and commitment to support the Parastatal SERVICOM Unit of his Agency and pledged that his Management team would be held accountable by the services rendered to customers.
This he said, would be achieved through quality feedbacks from customers across board that would, be deployed through random and independent surveys that would drive improvements in the Agency.
