
The National Coordinator/ CEO SERVICOM, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli, has called on Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs), to prioritize Service Delivery Initiatives that are citizens’ centered in all their service windows nation- wide.
This call was made when the Coordinator paid an advocacy visit to the Management and staff of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), in Abuja.
In her key note address Mrs. Akajemeli said that, SERVICOM is looking forward to moving the service delivery initiatives and improvements’ in all facets of service delivery in NEPAD.
According to her, SERVICOM mandate focuses on improving the quality of that contact by working with Ministries Departments and Agencies to achieve its goals and objectives as set up by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
SERVICOM is about service, doing what we’re employed to do, it is to measure excellence and standards which lies in MDAs delivering customer focused services to stakeholders’ service wide.
She solicited for the support of the National Coordinator of NEPAD and her Management team to comply with the directives of the Federal Government that SERVICOM Units be under the Office of the Chief Executives of MDAs to effectively monitor services rendered to Nigerians.
She further said that, part of her visit is to strengthen and solicit support for the SERVICOM Unit and to eliminate bottle necks in access to the Coordinator and empower staff of the SERVICOM Unit to achieve the culture of excellence.
The Unit she said, would function optimally as SERVICOM foot soldiers and eyes of Management in all aspects of customer service within NEPAD.
She implored management of NEPAD to provide the Unit with needed resources. for the implementation of its service delivery planned activities for the Organization.
She further advised Management to constitute SERVICOM Unit Committee with membership from departments and Units, as well as inaugurate and induct the Parastatal SERVICOM Unit Committee.
Akajemeli also advocated for a review of NEPADs Service Charter which is a strategic document that communicates promises and commitments of services provided by an organization to its customers.
She encouraged the SERVICOM Unit to participate in trainings organized by the SERVICOM Institute that would further strengthen the capacity of the Unit to effectively carry out its functions in line with the Agency’s mandate.
In his response to the SERVICOM Boss, the National Coordinator / CEO, The New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), Honourable Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi Tsauri, appreciated the visit and informed the Coordinator SERVICOM, “that in NEPAD, we strive for excellence and we ensure it is perfectly delivered”.
He briefed her that, on his assumption as the Coordinator /CEO, he had directed that a plan of action for the SERVICOM Unit be submitted to him with dispatch so as to enable him, hit the ground running.
He further said that the SERVICOM Unit under his purview is expected to give him policy briefings for implementation on a weekly basis; to enable the Agency achieves its set mandate of service delivery to Nigerians as expected.
He assured the SERVICOM Coordinator, of his willingness and commitment to work in synergy with the National Office to attain the mandate and expectations set out for the Agency.
