The National Coordinator SERVICOM, Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli has commended the Ag. Chairman and Management of Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) in entrenching the Service Delivery Initiatives of the Federal Government.
This commendation came when the SERVICOM team, led by the National Coordinator paid an advocacy visit to the Ag. Chairman, CCB in Abuja, during the course of the week in Abuja.
According to the National Coordinator, government is about the people, and the impact of governance is determined by the quality of satisfactory services delivered to citizens and the extent to which these services meet their needs s and expectations.
Akajemeli explained that the purpose of the visit is to share policy brief on the Bureau SERVICOM Unit, to discuss functionality and performance of the Parastatal SERVICOM unit, and the review of the service charter of the Bureau, as well as training in all aspects of service delivery and among others.
She further stated that the way forward to entrenching a culture of service excellence in the Bureau is the production of CCB’s Service Charter as well as the implementation/monitoring of standards in the service charter to be fully effected by the Bureau in order to report performance against set standards to management of the Bureau.
She called for more Managements support for the SERVICOM unit by ensuring the implemention of its work plan for year 2024 for improved service delivery initiatives.
She noted that through the inauguration of Parastatal SERVICOM committee, States and Headquaters, membership from all departments and units should meet at least once a month to share service delivery experiences, amongst others.
She further stated that the Public Service is the only contact that most citizens have with government such as administering Assets Declaration forms (form CCB) free of charge to public officers on assumption of duty.
The National Coordinator reiterated that SERVICOM office believes that if the solutions proffered are implemented, CCB and its SERVICOM unit would be strengthened and positioned to function optimally thereby ensuring that all customers are served right and as kings.
While responding, Ag.Chairman (CCB) Barrister Murtala Kankia who expressed satisfaction over the visit, said that SERVICOM is complementing what the Bureau is doing.
He equally said that the visit is timely to connect more to ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery initiatives of Bureau.
He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting effective and efficient service delivery initiatives as outlined by the SERVICOM Office.
We have to work in synergy in order to entrench accountability and transparency in our system”, he stressed.
