FIC Report (Anambra State) – Governor Chukwuma Soludo has shown concern over the widening erosion on Anambra Airport axis on Enugu- Onitsha Expressway.

Governor Soludo visited the erosion site to ascertain the level of damage on the road project which seems to have been abandoned by the construction company.

According to the Governor, it has become imperative to raise concerns over the fast expanding erosion site which is threatening to cut the major highway and expressed dismay over the speed of the construction by RCC and MTN.

He said that if urgent efforts are not made for the contractors to return to the site and remedy the situation, it might soon degenerate to the situation as seen in Oba axis of Onitsha- Owerri road which cost the State billions of naira to intervene.

The Governor, therefore, sent an SOS to the Federal Government to declare state of emergency on the road which has inflicted suffering on the people of South East region over years.

The Anambra Governor added that the deplorable condition of the road has made the state airport more difficult to access.
