
The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to quality education and called for stronger collaboration with NGOs. Speaking at the 2025 Annual National Summit for NGOs, IDPs, CBOs, and FBOs in the Education Sector, he emphasized education’s role in societal and economic progress.
Represented by the Director of Education Management and Programme Coordinator for SDG, Mrs. Khadiya Liman, he stressed bridging policy and practice for meaningful reforms. He highlighted key government initiatives such as curriculum modernization, digital learning, and teacher capacity development, urging NGOs to align with national priorities.
Dr. Alausa emphasized inclusivity, calling for targeted interventions for marginalized communities, out-of-school children, and students with disabilities. He urged NGOs to adopt innovative strategies and ensure transparency in projects to maintain donor confidence. The Ministry remains committed to policy support and coordination.
The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Nasiru Sani Gwarzo, represented by Abdullahi Hussein, commended NGOs for their role in improving education through infrastructure, teacher training, and advocacy. He encouraged practical, results-driven solutions.
Director of Special Duties, Mohammed Malami Garba, acknowledged challenges such as resource constraints and policy gaps, calling for collective strategies. Other dignitaries, including Ministry Directors and Dr. Claris Ujam, emphasized multi-stakeholder collaboration for a resilient education system.
The summit provided a platform to celebrate achievements, assess progress, and strategize for a more inclusive and sustainable education sector in Nigeria.
