FIC Report (Taraba State) – The Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas, on Friday, 6th February 2026, flagged off the distribution of 25 data capturing machines and printers procured by the Taraba State Government to support the National Identity Management Commission.
The exercise took place at the TY Danjuma House in Jalingo, where the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the national identity enrollment process across the state.
The development marks the first time in the history of the state that the government is providing such significant support to the commission.
The Taraba State Coordinator of the National Identity Management Commission, Mrs Serah Babangida, expressed profound gratitude to the Governor for providing the equipments, noting that the intervention would significantly enhance the commission’s capacity to enroll more residents into the national identity database.
The programme represents a historic milestone in collaboration and demonstrates the government’s strong commitment to inclusive governance and digital identity expansion.
The initiative also aligns with the Federal Government’s drive to build a robust digital public infrastructure, aimed at ensuring that more Nigerians are captured in the national identity system.
