FIC Report (Taraba State) – Governor Agbu Kefas officially launched a ‘2-day Capacity Building Conference’ centered on accountability and good governance for Local Government Officials and Stakeholders in Taraba State.
At the conference’s opening, the governor noted that the gathering continued a workshop from the preceding year, emphasizing its role as a call to duty and a period of reflection on leadership’s complexities and accountability.
According to him, his administration has taken a bold step to ensure governance is felt state-wide, and this is why he initiated free and compulsory education to ensure every child has access to education.
The council Chairmen were urged to support the initiative and ensure its success in their areas. Rebuilding schools statewide is set to commence, with a committee to be established.
Major General Henry Ayamasaowei, MD/CEO of Euclase Resources Limited, the firm handling the workshop, provided an overview of the conference and noted that it will assess the performance of local government areas and evaluate the journey so far.
The workshop will position the local government to operate competitively, he stated.
He also lauded the governor for considering capacity building as a means of boosting productivity in public service.
