FIC Report (Abia State) – Since the inception of this government, there has been great Rehabilitation, Rebuilding and Reconstruction of Roads and Drainages etc. Ovom Road Ogbor, Hill Aba, Abia State has not been left out. The road and the people have been remembered.
For over several years now erosion has ravaged the Ovom Road, making so many people
living around that area to run away and this has brought untold hardship.
The Site engineer in charge of the Project being the person of Mr, Chris Soribe, Who is also the General Manager of OK & Joel Engineering Services Limited made it known that the Company handling the Construction Project is OK & Joel Engineering Services Limited.
He noted that at the assumption of the Construction of Ovom Road, Erosion almost swept off Peoples’ Houses, making the Ovom Road and Area Unhabitable.
He further pointed out that the Project was awarded sometime late last year or early this year. He made it known that the project has just lasted for a few months counting the time it started.
Also the Engineer confirms that the project is at the verge of Completion and will be Concluded in the next few Weeks.
He pointed out some of the main challenges they encountered during the project to be both technical and nature in kind.
Also he stated that they have successfully surpassed those Technical Challenges through “our team’s expertise and the support of the state government”.
In summary he said” It has been an awesome experience being the contractor in charge of this project. We feel honored to contribute to such an impactful legacy”.
He expressed the positive emotions of the people towards the almost concluded project “the people are beyond excited about the project. They have constantly shown appreciation, sometimes providing food and beverages to our staff on site. The project has already brought significant relief to the community”.
Some of the people interviewed who live around Ovom Road sincerely commend the efforts of the Abia State Governor ,the person of Dr. Alex Otti in controlling Erosion and Rehabilitating Ovom Area. And also hope that the project will soon be completed and commissioned as expected.
