To A Dear Leader and Mentor on the Anniversary of Your Birth.
Although the exigency of duties outside our shores will not permit me today to physically share in the joys, happiness and camaraderie that usually define this day for you and us, your humble Mentees, I have since waking up this morning asked my God to:
Bless your waking and retiring;
Hold you by the hand at all times;
Bless your bread and your water;
Steady your feet to show us the way;
Retain for you the blessing of your foot soldiers; men who will jump to pick your walking-stick when it slips from your hold;
Hear your prayers before you mutter them;
Bless the fruits of your body;
Lift you higher than you ever imagined possible and
Answer you whenever you call on Him.
“In this new year of your life, Sir, I have no doubt that the Almighty One will surround you perpetually with sweet songs of family, mentees and other loved ones, and offer you the strength of body and mind to continue to serve our nation, Africa as well as the entire globe as you have continued to do these many years.
Congratulations, Your Excellency, Leader and Mentor on your birthday.

As a Member of the 8th and 9th Houses of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Buba served under Gbajabiamila, who was first, the Majority Leader of the 8th House and later Speaker of the 9th House. Both leaders, who performed maximally to the applause of many watchers of the National Assembly during those tenures, enjoyed the trust and confidence of each other, including their common uncanny abilities for results and service-delivery.
The Chief of Staff to Mr. President and 14th Speaker of the nation’s House of Representatives, a highly accomplished individual in many fields of endeavour, turned 63 on the 25th June, 2025.
