President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, has charged the Graduands of National Defence College Course 31 to use the knowledge, expertise and skill acquired during the Course to find solutions to security and developmental challenges in the country.
This was stated during the graduation ceremony of National Defence College Course 31 at Abacha Hall, NDC, Abuja.
The President who was represented by the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar CON,mni, said that Nigeria is faced with a plethora of challenges including insecurity, socio-economic hiccups, climate change, migrationry issues, systematic corruption, oil theft as well as reduced national productivity, adding that these challenges demand creative and purpose driven leadership to mitigate.
Speaking to the Graduands, he said: “It is my hope and expectation that you all will rise to the occasion with me to bring to our people, the renewed hope that we promised during our electioneering campaign.”
“I urge you Graduands of Course 31, to go back to your Services and Agencies and align with the vision of the new leadership. Much has been given to you in this College and much is expected of you in the field, arise to the occasion. I charge you,” he stated.
In his welcome address, the Commandant of National Defence College, Rear Admiral OM Olotu congratulated the Participants for successfully going through the rigorous course and emerging as graduands.
According to the Commandant, a total of 113 participants are graduating from Course 31 of the college. They comprise 29 officers of the Nigerian Army, 22 officers of the Nigerian Navy, 5 officers of the Nigerian Airforce, 6 officers of the Nigerian Police Force, 20 participants from Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government and 20 international participants.
He charged Graduands to contribute their quota towards national security and economic development in their various countries.
The highlight of the Ceremony was the presentation of certificates and Awards as well as unveiling of Strategic Lenses Series 7 and Defence Insight Vol. 2.
