Speaking at the event which was held at the Government House, Lafia, Shettima who is also the National Chairman of the Human Capital Development Agenda, expressed the commitment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to lift many Nigerians out of poverty in the shortest possible time through the numerous unfolding government policies that had been put in place by the federal government.

He explained that the government was not only committed to ensuring that youths acquire employable skills, but it aims to empower them to export those skills globally, for them to be able to compete at the highest levels of the international markets.

He, therefore, commended the Nasarawa state government and its Human Capital Development Agency for their untiring efforts thus far in ensuring that all residents of the state, especially the youths, are given the needed empowerment and support to improve their livelihoods.

“Today’s launch of the Nasarawa State Human Capital Development Strategy Document and Gender Transformative Policy Framework is evidence of Nasarawa State’s leadership and vision under the Governor of the state, Abdullahi Sule.

“Nasarawa state’s entry at this pivotal stage is a promising sign of progress. However, let me emphasize this. No government can or should function in isolation. The progress we have made in the HCD programme has only been possible because of our shared commitment to collaboration and partnership.

“I congratulate Nasarawa state and all the stakeholders for their dedication to making this vision a reality. Nasarawa state’s commitment to the success of our HCD programme is not merely inspirational, it is a promise backed by action,” the Vice President added.

On his part, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, while expressing his gratitude to the Vice President for his consistent support to the state, said that both documents will, no doubt, guide the state into a new era of development, inclusivity, and economic prosperity.

He noted that the documents represent not only the state’s vision for the future but also its commitment to delivering measurable and sustainable results, adding that the idea of the documents was conceived because the government believes in creating systems that work for the people.

“Let me state that the Nasarawa State Human Capital Development Strategy Document, Accelerating Growth and Development 2024-2030, is an actionable roadmap that will further guide our interventions in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic empowerment.

“Similarly, the Nasarawa State’s Gender Transformative Human Capital Development Framework is equally critical in the state’s progress. This is because gender equity is a cornerstone of sustainable development,” Sule added.

While thanking the Africa Human Capital Development Plus and ECOWAS for their unwavering support in ensuring the success of both documents, Sule reiterated his administration’s commitment to continue to support all residents of Nasarawa State to improve their means of livelihoods.

Earlier in her speech, the Director General of the Nasarawa State Human Capital Development Agency, Habiba Balarabe-Suleiman, while welcoming dignitaries from the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and other parts of the country, emphasized the need for all stakeholders to key into the state HCD agency’s agenda to accelerate development in the state as well as ensure that all citizens achieve their full potentials.
