FIC Report (Lagos State) – Vice President Kashim Shettima represented President Bola Tinubu as the Special Guest of Honour at the 2025 Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference in Lagos today. The conference theme was “Examining the Current Landscape of Terrorism Through the Lenses of Diplomatic and Military Action Strategy for Long-term Prevention and Stabilisation”.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State welcomed Shettima and pledged continued support for the Nigerian Army’s mission. “The nation sees you, values your service, and appreciates the enormous contributions you continue to make in protecting lives and property,” Sanwo-Olu said.
President Tinubu, in a statement read by Shettima, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare, professionalism, and operational effectiveness of the Nigerian Army. “The Nigerian Army remains at the forefront of efforts to combat terrorism, insurgency, banditry, and other criminalities,” Tinubu said.
The conference featured the unveiling of a book, “A Life of Service,” honouring the 23rd Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja.
