The Acting Executive Director of the Nigeria Integrated Water Resources Management Commission (NIWRMC), Mrs. Sakinatu Suleiman Abbo Jimeta has said that Water Use Licence is granted to bulk water users to ensure equitable and efficient distribution of water.
She made this statement while presenting the Water Use Licence to the Technical Manager, Niger Mills, Calabar, Engr. Leo Morga in her office in Abuja.
She noted that the licence issued will be revalidated after every two years to ensure compliance while urging the Company to make payment of water charges as at when due and follow the terms and conditions of the licence.
The Acting Executive Director said the licence should be used for the purpose of which it was granted to ensure fairness.
The Director, Allocation and Authorization, Engr. Shazali Uba Ajingi remarked that the company will be supervised by the Commission to ensure the terms and conditions for which the licence was granted are adhered to.
Engr. Morga thanked the Commission for issuing the Water Use Licence to his Company.
