Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim has been conferred an Award at the 3rd edition of the Nigeria Excellence Award in Public Service (NEAPS) held on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at the State House Conference Hall, Abuja.
The Award was organized by The Best Strategic (TBS) Media in collaboration with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and is purely a private sector driven initiative, which has independently assessed the performance of public servants in the discharge of their roles and responsibilities and have nominated the recipients of the awards.
Conferring the Awards on recipients, the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu thanked the Best Strategic Media (TBS), led by Ms. Mariam Mohammed, for this initiative and for deploying one of the best indices to determine the level of performance of Public Officers.
The President noted that Public Officers will be challenged to perform above board now that they know they are being monitored by the people whom they should serve at all times with utmost responsibility.
He acknowledged that at present, issues in corruption continue to affect the civil service in many countries, around the world, because of the deeply rooted problems like nepotism, cronyism, political patronage as well as lack of transparency and accountability.
“Today, I am happy to have the opportunity to recognize 50 persons who have distinguished themselves across many sectors of the government and indeed, the economy including some State Governors and few Ministers.
“This Awards is born out of empirical evidence of performance and not politics. This award is a recognition of the giant strides you all have made towards the transformation of Nigeria and you have consistently put hard work and dedication at the centre of your initiatives. Let me use this opportunity to say “Thank You” for your contributions to the transformation of this country” the President acknowledged.
Earlier, Secretary to Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume in his address, described it as an Award that recognizes and rewards innovation, purposeful leadership and other exceptional deserving individuals that have contributed immensely to the growth and development of the public service and the country at large.
According to him, the event is to recognize individuals and Organisations that have distinguished themselves and have been carefully selected from both Public and Private Sector based on empirical facts and figures. “It is pertinent to understand that The Nigeria Excellence Award in Public Service (NEAPS) is more than just a mere Award but a validation through the private sector initiative in which the Federal Government of Nigeria wishes to honor and reward excellence in Public Service”, he said.
