FIC Report (Ekiti State) – Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Ekiti State Command has arrested 16 persons in connection with various crimes in Ikere-Ekiti and Ado-Ekiti metropolis.
In a statement signed by the CDPRO Sc Afolabi Tolulope, the suspects Olaseinde Idowu 19years, John Emeka 18years, Olofinyan Abiodun 20years and Ayodele Ayodeji were apprehended in Ikere-Ekiti Ekiti following an intelligence report and complaints from the people that the suspects have been troubling the peace of the area, dealt in hard drugs, engaged in cyber fraud and criminal conspiracies.
Items recovered from them were hard drugs suspected to be ice, Tramadol, marijuana and loud.
Adidas Toyin, 22 years; Akinmusire Odunayo, 22 years and Ajayi Olumide 24 years were apprehended in Ado metropolis in connection with criminal conversion, cyber fraud and impersonation.
Items recovered from them were two Toyota Camry cars and three IPhones.
Other suspects were Ojo Timileyin, 24 years; Mojeed Akeem, 23 years; Adefuwa Adebowale, 24 years; Adepoju Afeez 22years and Ayobami Matthew, 26 years.
They were arrested at Idolofin axis of Ado-Ekiti metropolis for criminal conspiracy, adoption, assault, cyber fraud and cultism.
They were arrested following a distress call by a good Samaritan that some cultist group were beating and destroying some properties along Idolofin axis which the Counter Terrorism Unit of the Command responded with a tactical team that led to the apprehension of the suspects and returned normalcy in the area.
Hassan Oluwajuwon 20years, Omolade Olumide 22years and Goodness Olaleke 20 years were arrested along Oyebam Hotel Federal Polytechnic Road in Ado Ekiti.
They were picked up following a petition by their Landlord who called for assistance from the Command on the illegal behaviours of these suspects.
Preliminary investigation on them showed that they were cultists, drug addicts and cyber serial fraudsters.
Akinwale Temitope 18years, a serial fraudster was arrested along Ado/Ikere-Ekiti road.
Preliminary investigation showed that the suspect had been impersonating a white woman, Amanda Perason and he has used her identity to fraudulently swindled 15million naira and $10,000 from Europeans and Americans.
He has confessed to the commission of the crime.
Commenting on the achievements, the State Commandant, Sosina Paul Oluwaseun PhD fsi, restated the commitment of Ekiti Command of NSCDC to the protection of fundamental human rights without allowing criminal elements to hide under the protection of relevant laws to perpetrate crimes and create needless fear into the minds of Ekiti people.
He explained further that the Counter Terrorism Unit of the Command is still working on strategies to protect commuters along Ikere, Ise and Emure axis of the State during, before and after the new year celebration.
