FIC Report (Oyo State) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo State has concluded the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, effective Friday, April 17, 2026.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Commission announced the commencement of the display of the Preliminary Register of Voters for claims and objections. The exercise is scheduled to run from Monday, April 20 to Sunday, April 26, 2026, in line with the CVR timetable.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Oyo State, Adeniran Rahmon Tella, disclosed that the display exercise will take place across all 33 INEC Local Government Area offices in the State, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily.
According to him, the exercise is aimed at enabling citizens to verify their biometric details on the register and request corrections where necessary.
He added that the process also accommodates applications for voter transfer, correction of personal information, and replacement of lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
Professor Tella emphasized that all affected persons must appear in person at designated centres to confirm the status of their requests, noting that proxy representation will not be permitted.
He urged eligible voters to take advantage of the exercise to ensure the accuracy and credibility of the voters’ register, stressing that all claims and objections must be submitted within the stipulated period, as no requests will be entertained after the deadline.
