FIC Report (Sokoto State) – Inline with the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment in strengthening and addressing the longstanding manpower deficit, a total number of 712 Police Constables graduated from the Police Training School Farfaru, Sokoto State.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetekun, represented by the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 10, Abubakar Lawal Daura, was at the Passing Out Parade ceremony of the 2022 batch from Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States at the Police Training School, Farfaru, Sokoto State on the 23rd January,2025.
The Inspector General of Police, stated that pursuant to the Community Policing principle of the current Police administration, majority of the newly graduated Constables will be posted to their States to augment the shortage of manpower in the Police Force. He explained that the recruitment of 10,000 Constables nationwide was necessary to support the police in combating insurgency and other crimes.
Egbetekun, tasked the new constables to ensure patriotism and prepare themselves for more training and service to the nation. He also emphasized on the importance of safety and security, reminding them to observe the rules of engagement.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 10, Abubakar Lawal Daura, expressed gratitude to the Governors of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States for their encouragement and support of security in the zone. He urged the public to continue supporting security agencies with useful information to enhance their commitment.
In attendance were the Sokoto State commissioner of Police, Ahmed Musa, Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Bello M. Sani, representative of the police Service Commission, Barr Labaran, the Special Adviser to the Sokoto State Governor on Career and Security Matters, Colonel Ahamed Usman (rtd) Zamfara State Commissioner for Internal Security, Anb. Bala Mairiga and other dignitaries.
