Abia State Gov Alex Otti has directed the payment of fees accruing to all the State-owned Nursing/Midwifery Institutions to government designated Bank accounts.
The move aside from blocking financial leakages might not be unconnected to various allegations bothering on mismanagement of public funds by key officials in the Itate government owned Health Institutions across the State.
The directive which was issued in a press release by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Kazie Ukoh informed the General Public, especially Parents, Guardians and Students of all the State-owned Nursing/Midwifery Institutions to make payments of all fees through the bank to a designated UBA account that will be found in the Acting Principal’s office of each institution.
The release while noting that the directive takes immediate effect, warned that any cash payment made from June 27th by or on behalf of any student outside of government designated bank account will not be acceptable.

ABIA STATE GOVERNMENT PAYMENT OF FEES TO DESIGNATED BANK ACCOUNT
The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has directed the payment of fees accruing to all the state-owned Nursing/Midwifery institutions to designated Bank accounts.
Consequently, the General Public, especially Parents, Guardians and Students of all the state-owned Nursing/Midwifery institutions are hereby informed that starting from the 27th of June 2023, all fees must be paid through the bank to a designated UBA account that will be found in the Acting Principal’s office of each institution
Any cash payment made by or on behalf of any student outside of this designated bank account will not be acceptable. Please be guided.
This directive takes immediate effect.
