The Minister of Interior Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Wednesday passionately pleaded with the 3 promoted ACGs to DCGs to be loyal to the country in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He made the pleadings while decorating the tthree officers with new ranks of DCG, he charged them to be loyal to their Service, loyal to their Uniform.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo, said “for every day we sleep make sure you are writing your name not on a sand of time but on a rock of time, I beg you, Nigerians needs you more than ever now.
He urged the Service personnel to brace up and link up with the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is hell-bent in making sure that Nigeria regains its pride in global community.
The Minister sounded it loud to the new DCGs that Nigeria is passing through a challenging moment, hence the need for dedication and loyalty to the country.
He challenged the officers that in the area of protection of critical infrastructures they should come out with innovations in profering solutions. Adding that “nobody makes an agency relevant, it is the agency that makes its self relevant”.
He begged, “come up with ideas that will redefine the process, come up with ideas that will solve our problems, come up with ideas that will secure our oil facilities, ideas that would ensure minimal obstruction in the volume of our crude oil production”.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo, reiterated that as a Minister of Interior, he cannot achieve success without their support, he added the CG too cannot succeed without their support, he said the President cannot do it alone, he said: “we rely on you, be the building brick, be the foundation upon which we will erect the structure of excellent, he said.
He congratulated the officers and urged them to dedicate themselves to the service of the nation for Nigerians to sleep with their two-eyes close, he wished them well.
The Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Peter Egbodo in his words also admonished the newly promoted officers to see their promotion as a call to duty and appreciation for their efforts in ensuring that lives and property of Nigerians are well secured, adding that, ” to whom much is given, much is expected”.
Earlier, while presenting the newly promoted officers for decoration, Secretary of the Board, Ja’afar Ahmed, applauded the Chairman of the Board for his perseverance in making it possible for the promotion to be completed within the promoting year, he said for five years promotion hardly became ready within the year, without it crossing to the preceding year, which he said it breeds issue of notional in promotion.
The officers decorated with the Deputy Controller General are: Sunday Oba Faiye, Fasiu Ayinla Adeyinka and Raji Ibrahim Adedoyin.
