FIC Report (Kano State) – The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, welcomed participants of the Two-Day Third Complaints Coordination Meeting for Force Oversight Agencies held at Tahir Guests Palace in Kano. This gathering aimed to enhance collaboration and address concerns within the force, especially complaints against Police Officers.
CP Dogo commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and other stakeholders, including UNODC, CLEEN Foundation, Ministry of Police Affairs, and National Human Rights Commission, for their invaluable support and cooperation.
Key aspects of the meeting focused on enhancing collaboration among Force Oversight Agencies, addressing pressing concerns, and strengthening the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) for efficient complaint handling. This demonstrates the Police Force’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
The participants also visited the Kano State Police Command’s Complaint Response Unit (CRU) Office, showcasing their dedication to effective complaint resolution. This move promotes trust and confidence between the police and the public.
By hosting such meetings, the Police Force demonstrates its commitment to upholding the rule of law, transparency, accountability, and community engagement. This collaborative approach ensures a safer and more secure environment for Kano State residents.
CP Salman Dogo Garba reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring adequate security of lives and properties in the state. He solicited support and cooperation from officers, men, and the general public, acknowledging challenges such as thuggery activities.
