FIC Report (Imo State) – Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has expressed strong support for the economic reforms being implemented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the administration’s policies are laying the foundation for sustainable national development and will ultimately earn the President a second term in office in 2027.

Uzodimma made this assertion at the state dinner held at the Government House, Owerri to conclude the three-day inspection tour of federal and state government projects undertaken by members of the Presidential Communications Team and the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Imo State.

The governor stated that President Tinubu assumed office with a clear understanding of the country’s economic realities and immediately embarked on reforms aimed at addressing long-standing structural challenges, adding that the President’s leadership approach is similar to that of Singapore’s founding Prime Minister, Lee Kuan Yew, whom he described as a leader remembered for implementing difficult but transformative policies that accelerated national development.

According to Governor Uzodimma, Nigeria has entered a new economic phase driven by reforms designed to reposition the country’s economy on a more sustainable path.
Using a biblical analogy, Senator Uzodimma likened Nigeria’s pre-reform economy to the Israelites’ bondage in Egypt, saying the difficult reforms were necessary to end years of economic stagnation and pave the way for lasting economic growth.

While admitting that the reforms imposed short-term hardship on citizens, Senator Uzodimma maintained that they were already yielding positive outcomes. He noted that increased revenues accruing to sub-national governments had expanded the capacity of states to invest in infrastructure, healthcare, education, technology and other critical sectors.

He went further to attribute the ongoing infrastructure development across Imo State to the improved fiscal environment created by the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that the state had intensified investments in projects targeted at promoting sustainable economic growth and improving the living standards of residents.

He expressed optimism in the administration’s prospects, adding that Nigerians would continue to witness the benefits of the ongoing reforms and would reward President Tinubu with another mandate in the 2027 general election.

Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Mr. Sunday Dare in a statement issued by the Director of Media and Publicity of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Mr. Tunde Rahman, praised the pace of infrastructure development in Imo State reiterating that federal and state government projects inspected reflected the practical implementation of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda through effective collaboration between the Federal Government and the Imo State Government.

He observed that the inspection tour showcased landmark investments in critical infrastructure and reaffirmed the Federal Government’s resolve to strengthening partnerships with state governments to drive economic growth and improve public service delivery across the country.
