President Bola Tinubu, has unveiled a comprehensive 4-year (2024-2028) Strategic Plan aimed at repositioning the National Lottery Trust Fund to deliver good cause projects to Nigerians.
Speaking on behalf of the President in Abuja yesterday, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, expressed the confidence that the strategic document, will no doubt complement the present administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“This move is part of President Tinubu’s efforts to drive economic transformation, ensure security, enhance food production, and improve social services. Through the National Lottery Trust Fund, the President believes that help will reach many Nigerians, providing support to vulnerable individuals and communities.”
He commended the Executive Secretary, NLTF, Comrade Tosin Adeyanju, for his visionary leadership while looking forward to more prosperous outcomes.
The Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Hon. Zephaniah Jisalo, gave the assurance that Nigerians will benefit from the strategic document, which prioritizes meaningful interventions.
The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Dr. Maryam Keshinro, in delivering the keynote address noted that “The National Lottery Trust Fund was established with a clear mandate: To harness the potential of lottery revenues for the betterment of our society. This Strategic Plan is a roadmap that will guide us in maximizing the impact of our initiatives, ensuring that every naira generated contributes to the development of critical sectors such as education, health, and infrastructure.”
Speaking at the event, the host, Executive Secretary, Comrade Tosin Adeyanju, commended the President for introducing Revenue Assurance Platform (RAP), observing that it will help the lottery industry to achieve its mandate.
“I want to appreciate our father, President Bola Tinubu for his role in reshaping the lottery industry in Nigeria through the introduction of Revenue Assurance Platform”.
Adeyanju, informed that the four-year Strategic Plan was developed within the first two months of his tenure, assuring that it will continue to deliver good causes to the people of Nigeria.
“Since 2005, NLTF has successfully implemented over 306 projects nationwide, touching lives and transforming communities. NLTF is committed to delivering GOOD CAUSES and worthwhile interventions across various sectors and in communities in need. Our Strategic Plan aligns with the current administration’s vision for sustainable development and social welfare”.
Goodwill messages were delivered by Senator Victor Umeh, on behalf of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, while Hon. Canice Moore, Chairman, House of Reps, Committee on Inter-Governmental Affairs and Special Duties represented the Speaker House of Reps, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.
The launch which was well attended attracted Government Functionaries, Captains of Industries and other Stakeholders.
