Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board Honored as “Best Hajj Hygienic State” for 2024

FIC Report (Kano State) – The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has been recognized with the prestigious title of “Best Hajj Hygienic State” for its exceptional dedication to health and hygiene during the 2024 Hajj operations. This accolade underscores the Board’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of Kano State pilgrims.

Announced by Professor Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe, Chairman of the Health Committee and Chief Medical Director of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, the award was presented at a ceremony in the Board’s Conference Hall. Professor Sheshe praised the Board for implementing rigorous hygiene protocols, which played a key role in safeguarding the health of pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage.

Awards were presented to key leaders, including Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, Director General of the Board, and Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Panda, Director of Operations, for their proactive leadership and dedication to high health standards. In his acceptance speech, Danbappa expressed gratitude, stating, “We are deeply honored to receive this award. Our goal has always been to provide the highest level of care and safety to our pilgrims, ensuring that their pilgrimage is a safe, healthy, and fulfilling experience.”

According to Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, this achievement reflects the collective dedication of all Board members and staff, who worked tirelessly to uphold stringent health and hygiene standards throughout the Hajj season.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Yusif Lawan, affirmed the Board’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving health practices for future Hajj operations, setting a high standard for other states in Nigeria.
