FIC Report (Kano State) – Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has taken a significant step towards strengthening the state’s security apparatus by donating 78 vehicles to the Kano Police Command. This generous move aims to improve security across the state’s 44 local government areas, ensuring the safety of residents and fostering a secure environment.
The donation includes 44 vehicles for the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) across all local government areas and 34 Sharon cars equipped with advanced technology for surveillance and rapid response operations. This will enable the police to respond swiftly and effectively to security challenges in the state.
Governor Yusuf emphasized that safeguarding lives and property is the fundamental duty of any responsible government. He pledged continued collaboration with security agencies to enable effective service delivery and announced plans to provide similar support to other security agencies.
In line with this development, the Commissioner of Police, Salman Dogo Garba, has directed operational commanders to enhance patrols, intensify intelligence gathering, improve response times, and foster community engagement to prevent and respond to security threats in Kano State. This strategic approach will ensure that the donated vehicles are utilized efficiently.
Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone I, commended Governor Yusuf for the donation, urging officers to use the vehicles strictly for official purposes. Kano State Police Commissioner Salman Dogo Garba, speaking on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, expressed gratitude for the governor’s generosity, noting that the new vehicles would significantly enhance the effectiveness of security personnel.
The donation is a welcome boost to the Kano Police Command, demonstrating Governor Yusuf’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Kano State residents. With enhanced operational capacity and community engagement, the police are better equipped to address security challenges and maintain peace in the state.
