FIC Report (Kano State) – The Kano State Government has commenced the implementation of the newly approved minimum wage of N71,000 for its workers. This development comes barely three weeks after the government received the committee report reviewing the new minimum wage.

According to Alhaji Abdullahi Musa, Head of Civil Service, Kano State, the implementation of the new minimum wage is a fulfillment of the governor’s promise. He expressed gratitude to the governor and solicited the cooperation of civil servants to rededicate themselves to effective and efficient service delivery.

The new minimum wage is expected to increase the state’s monthly salary obligations by N6 billion, with an additional N7 billion needed for the 44 local government councils. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf emphasized the government’s commitment to social justice, economic growth, and enhanced living standards for state workers and citizens.

In addition to the implementation of the new minimum wage, the Kano State Government has also commenced payments for all allowances of health workers in the state. Kano State workers have begun receiving their November salaries with the approved increment, prompting celebrations among the workers.
