With sincere gratitude to Almighty Allah, I heartily express my profound appreciation to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, HIS Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, The Executive Governor of Niger State, Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, The Executive Governor of Kwara State His Excellency Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, The Hon. Ministers of Defence, Chief of Defence Staff, other Service Chiefs and Security Agencies of Nigeria for their swift and decisive efforts that led to the safe release of our kidnapped sons, daughters, and elders.
In recent weeks, our communities of Woro, Konkonso, Pissa and Kasuwan Daji were thrown into grief and fear following the abduction of innocent citizens by criminal elements. The trauma affected families across Kaiama in Kwara State and Borgu in Niger State, as the affected areas share deep brotherly ancestry, cultural, social, and economic ties.
Today, we are filled with joy and relief as, through the coordinated efforts of the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, DSS, and local vigilante groups under the directive and support of the Presidency and the Niger and Kwara States Governments, our people have been reunited with their families.
I specifically want to thank:
- Mr. President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu CGFR For your personal and fatherly concern, directive to security agencies, and commitment to ensuring that no Nigerian is left behind. Your “Renewed Hope” agenda is being felt in our rural communities.
- His Excellency, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State and His Excellency Governor of Kwara State Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq- For your prompt intervention, logistics support to security operations, and continuous engagement with community leaders in Borgu and border communities.
- The Hon Ministers of Defence ,Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, and all Security Personnel For your bravery, professionalism, and sacrifices in the bush, often at great risk to your own lives, to secure the release of our people without further harm.
Your efforts have restored hope, peace, and confidence among our people. The safe return of our brothers and sisters from Woro, Konkonso,Pisa and Kasuwan Daji is proof that when government and security agencies work together with communities, criminality will not prevail.
What more, to reinforce and consolidate the security of this strategic part of our great country, you also approved a new 29 Brigade, Kainji-New Bussa under 9 Division,Ilorin that covers Kwara and Niger States and thus consolidated authority to be able to tackle security challenges henceforth with the required tact and gallantry.
Thank you also for aiding and strengthened this by the Operation Savannah Shield, design to cover the spaces used by this criminals. We are truly grateful.
We also appreciate the traditional rulers, religious leaders, and all citizens who prayed and supported us during this difficult period.
As communities, we pledge our continued cooperation with government and security agencies by providing timely information and supporting all initiatives aimed at lasting peace and security in Kaiama, Borgu, and across our border areas.
May God Almighty continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria, protect our President, our Governor, and all our gallant security forces.
