The Council is the apex body for the articulation of information and communications policies and strategies for the efficient Management of public information in Nigeria. It brings together the Honourable Minister of Information, Chairmen, Senate and House of Representatives Committees on Information, the Commissioners of Information from the 36 States of the Federation, including the representative of the Federal Capital Territory as well as other stakeholders in the industry with the aim of exchanging ideas and strategies for effective information management in the country.
