The Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has distributed palliatives to women groups and vulnerable individuals in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja with a view to contributing to food security and ensuring a joyous yuletide celebration.
Speaking during the symbolic distribution at the Renewed Hope Year-end intervention for vulnerable women and families programme, the Minister emphasized that this initiative reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to addressing the pressing needs of vulnerable groups in the country.
She reiterated the administration’s dedication to safeguarding, protecting, and empowering women, children, and vulnerable groups, noting that fresh perspectives and innovative approaches will be deployed to ensure greater success in subsequent years.
Sulaiman-Ibrahim who commended Nigerian women for their resilience and unwavering efforts in supporting their families amidst the current global economic challenges, added that Women are the backbone of our society, and empowering them is essential to fostering strong and resilient communities.
In a welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Ambassador Gabriel Aduda stated that the initiative is a symbolism of what the Ministry is all about, nurturing lives, reaching out to people, bringing humanity into governance, expanding the reach of Mr. President, the entire administration to all homes in order to improve our livelihoods.
He commended the Honourable Minister, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim for the Scheme, which is not only targeted at celebrating the vulnerable but the entirety of Nigerian women, girl-child as well as the vulnerable.
The occasion witnessed the distribution of bags of rice and other palliatives to different women groups in the FCT.
