In a heartfelt ceremony that bids farewell to a number of workers, the Federal Ministry of Finance has today, gathered to pay tribute to its esteemed retirees, celebrating their years of dedicated service and invaluable contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth and development.
The Honourable Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite led the tribute, praising the retirees for their selfless service and commitment to excellence. You have carried the torch of fiscal responsibility, led the implementation of sound economic practices, and inspired the next generation of Civil Servants, she said.
The Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Finance is the backbone of the nation’s fiscal policies, economic growth, and development, noting that over the years, the retirees have been instrumental in ensuring the stability and growth of Nigeria’s economy.
Their expertise, integrity, and dedication to duty have not only advanced the Ministry’s goals but also played a central role in fostering the economic development of Nigeria.
Dr. Uzoka-Anite also commended the retirees for their selflessness, perseverance, and commitment to excellence. As you transition into this new chapter of your lives, I want to assure you that the work you have done will never be forgotten. Your achievements will continue to resonate in the many projects, reforms, and initiatives that we carry forward. You have set high standards, and it is now our collective responsibility to uphold them, she stated.
Uzoka-Anite, who noted that the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun could not be physically present due to state functions, added however that he recognises your remarkable contributions and has asked me to express his deepest appreciation for your years of service, which contributed in no small measure in shaping the country’s developmental priorities.
Earlier, in her opening remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Lydia Shehu Jafiya, acknowledged the retirees’ invaluable contributions, stating that each one of you has made an indelible mark on the Ministry and the country, leaving behind a legacy of excellence, integrity, and dedication that will continue to inspire future generations of public servants.
While wishing the retirees a better future in their post retirement period, she advised them to see retirement as another remarkable chapter in life.
As the retirees embark on a new chapter in their lives, the Ministry wishes them happiness, peace, and fulfilment. Their contributions to the nation’s development will never be forgotten.
We are forever grateful for the years of service, and we wish you all the very best in all your future endeavours, said Mr. Raymond Omenka Omachi, Permanent Secretary Special Duties. Your exemplary service will never be forgotten, and we hope that you will continue to share your wisdom and experience with us whenever possible.
The Ministry’s Director of Human Resources Mrs Olusola Dada in her vote of thanks commended the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Mr Wale Edun, the Honourable Minister of State Finance Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite, the Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Finance Mrs Lydia Shehu Jafiya as well as the Permanent Secretary Special Duties Mr Raymond Omenka Omachi for graciously honouring the retirees.
She assured that the staff will continue to bring their wealth of experience to bear in order to ensure full implementation of the policies and programmes of the Federal Government in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Administration.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the Ministry’s history, as Dr. Uzoka-Anite underscored the Ministry’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating the contributions of the staff who put in their best to draw the policy objectives of government.
As the retirees begin their well-deserved retirement, their legacy will continue to inspire and motivate the Ministry to strive for excellence in its pursuit of Nigeria’s economic growth and development.
