FIC Report (Benue State) – The Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Emenari Ifeanyi, PhD., psc, mnips, has deployed Tactical Commanders to various troubled areas across Benue State, with a directive to restrategize and effectively confront the prevailing security challenges.
This move was announced by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Anene Sewuese Catherine, following an emergency security meeting held on May 3, 2025, at the Police Officers’ Mess, Makurdi. The meeting had in attendance Senior Police Officers, Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs).
CP Emenari urged the commanders to collaborate closely with quasi-security outfits operating within their Areas of Responsibility (AOR). He stressed the importance of community policing—an inclusive approach that requires active participation from all stakeholders in securing lives and property.
The CP reiterated his stance on zero tolerance for corruption and all forms of unprofessional conduct, warning that such behaviors tarnish the image of the Nigeria Police Force. He assured that officers who demonstrate professionalism and dedication would be recognized and rewarded.
In his closing remarks, CP Emenari expressed readiness to work hand-in-hand with all security agencies, quasi-security outfits, traditional rulers, community leaders, and all stakeholders committed to peace and security in Benue State.
