Anambra Security Chiefs Meet Ahead Of Tinubu’s Visit

FIC Report (Anambra State) – Security chiefs have convened in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, to strategize on security operations ahead of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s visit to the state this week.

The closed-door meeting was attended by representatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi (Rtd).

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement, said the meeting was to strengthen security arrangements for the President’s scheduled visit to Anambra State later in the week.

He noted that the high-level meeting lasted for five hours and featured detailed briefings from the heads of various security agencies and that the deliberations focused on reviewing current security intelligence, assessing threat levels, and implementing enhanced security measures within the capital city and other strategic locations across the state.

Additionally, he stated that the session addressed operational planning, inter-agency coordination, and contingency preparedness aimed at developing robust response strategies for a range of possible scenarios during the presidential visit.

According to him, the comprehensive security approach reflects the commitment of Anambra State’s security architecture to ensuring the safety of the visiting President, dignitaries, and citizens, while maintaining peace and stability across the state.
