FIC Report (Lagos State) – Nigeria – July 18, 2025 – Nigeria’s table tennis teams showcased their prowess at the ongoing 2025 ITTF Africa West Regional Championships, clinching the top spot in both the men’s and women’s team events at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. Both events concluded yesterday.
The Nigerian teams demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, outperforming their competitors from across the region. This victory marks a significant achievement for Nigerian table tennis, highlighting the country’s growing dominance in the sport.
The 2025 ITTF Africa West Regional Championships commenced on July 16 and will conclude on July 19, 2025, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, Nigeria.
While the team events concluded on Thursday, July 17, 2025, with Nigeria emerging as champions in both men’s and women’s categories, the singles events will continue today, Friday, July 18, and conclude on Saturday, July 19.
The championships, which featured top teams from countries including Togo, Benin Republic, Ghana, and Côte d’Ivoire, served as a qualifier for the 2025 African Championships in Rwanda. Nigeria’s win solidifies its position as a force to be reckoned with in African table tennis.
