The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction Sports Club, popularly known as Team Humanitarian, has emerged the 2ND BEST KITTED TEAM at the July 2025 Edition of the Monthly Keep-Fit Aerobics Exercise.
The well-attended event took place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
In his remarks, the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Ayodele Olawande, commended the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoSF), Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, for her continued efforts in reinvigorating the Civil Service for greater productivity and innovation.
He also lauded the dedication of MDAs participating under the Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA), acknowledging their resilience and enthusiasm despite the unfavorable weather conditions. He further pledged his commitment to attend the upcoming 2025 FEPSGA Games.
Representing the HoSF, Mrs. Ayekunle Patience, Permanent Secretary for Social Welfare, praised the leadership of all MDAs that facilitated staff participation in the initiative, which she described as essential for promoting the health and well-being of civil servants nationwide. She emphasized that physical fitness should go beyond jogging events and noted that the Office of the Head of Service is now fully equipped with state-of-the-art fitness facilities and a medical team.
She encouraged participants to continue engaging in such activities in the spirit of unity and resilience that defines the Nigerian public service.
Also speaking at the event, Comrade Amaebi Aloku, National President of FEPSGA, expressed his delight at the impressive turnout. He thanked the Federal Government, Permanent Secretaries, Directors, Sports Managers, and all MDA participants for their unwavering support. He announced that the 2025 FEPSGA Games will be held in November and looked forward to the participation of official Federal Government delegates.
The Sports Manager of Team Humanitarian, Mr. Kazeem Adewale Adenekan, extended his gratitude to the Ministry’s leadership for making the team’s participation possible. He also applauded team members for their resilience and commitment, stating:
“Despite the heavy rain, Team Humanitarian stood firm and remained unstoppable. He said the Team Humanitarian will continue to make the Minister proud.
Also in attendance were Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, the Director of Human Resources of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction among others.
