Ododo Creates Ministry of Livestock Development, Appoints Dr. Bolarin as Pioneer Commissioner

FIC Report (Kogi State) – Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Friday approved the creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development and appointed Dr. Olufemi Bolarin as its first Commissioner.

The decision was announced during the State Executive Council meeting held at the EXCO Hall, Lugard House, Lokoja.
Administering the Oaths of Allegiance, Office, and Secrecy to Dr. Bolarin, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Muiz Abdullahi, formally inducted him into his new role.

While congratulating the appointee, Governor Ododo urged him to leverage his vast experience, age, and national connections to guide the state’s executive team, attract greater federal government attention, and boost the livestock sector.

Presenting Dr. Bolarin to the governor, the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs.Folashade Arike Ayoade, PhD, emphasized that the present administration does not condone religious bigotry or class discrimination.

She encouraged the new commissioner to uphold the government’s core values of unity and progressive development.

Dr. Bolarin, who until his appointment served as the Director General of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (LPRES) in Kogi State, is expected to spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing livestock development and economic growth in the state.
