FIC Report (Edo State) – The Federal Government has urged Nigerians to disseminate accurate information about government programs to counter misinformation. The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, represented by Mr. Daniel Ejodamen, stated this at a sensitization campaign in Benin, Edo State, with the theme ‘Tinubu Administration’s Mid-Term Report.’ He emphasized the importance of transparency, accountability, inclusiveness, and sustainable development in President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Alhaji Idris encouraged Nigerians to become ambassadors of correct information, sharing the realities of government programs and achievements to strengthen trust, unity, and national orientation.
He noted that the responsibility of nation-building is collective and that information is the fuel driving participation and trust.
The guest lecturer, Dr. Kennedy Edegbe, highlighted various federal government intervention programs, including student loans, worker loans, ICT infrastructure, and road infrastructure. He advised Nigerians to take advantage of these programs to add value to their lives.
The chairman of the occasion, Mr. James Orumwense, commended the Federal Government’s strides in agriculture, education, and infrastructural development.
Participants at the event including Zonal Director, NTA Benin Network Centre, Mrs Teni Ajayi represented by Mrs Francesca Nwaogbe, Heads of Government Agencies in the state, Labour Union leaders, traditional rulers among others were in attendance; and were full of praises for the ongoing Federal Government programmes, and sued for continuity and sustenance.
