FIC Report (Abia State) – The Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation has taken its sensitization rally on the mid-term achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration to the people of Abia State.
The sensitization rally which was led by the Head, Federal Information Centre, Umuahia, Lady Gloria Abiakam commenced at 10 am on Friday, 22nd of August from the State Government House with the distribution of leaflets and fliers displaying the sectoral achievements of the Federal Government for the past two years under the Administration of President Bola Tinubu.
During the rally, the Head of Center, Lady Gloria Abiakam was at the head of it announcing to the public all the good works of the President, his initiatives, measures he has taken to cushion the effects of subsidy removal, his intervention Programs, how to access them.
The staff were not left out as every one was on it as well. The fliers were shared to the people, and every one of the staff took time to explain to the audience what the rally was all about. They were given full details of the achievements of the Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in this second Anniversary of his Administration.
More so, the staff elaborated and highlighted the various Schemes that the Federal Government has rolled out in order to ease life for her citizens and how they can access them. Schemes like the Students’ Loan Scheme and others.
The rally on the sensitization of the People of Abia on the achievements and milestones of the Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commenced from the State Government House to the environs of the Communities, down to the streets, the business areas and market places were not left out.
One of the outstanding part of the rally was how people engaged us in questions, they were very eager to know more about the intervention measures of the Federal Government and how they can benefit from it. They were all satisfied with the explanations given to them.
Moreso, they are very excited on the various Schemes which the Federal Government has rolled out already to make life better for them. The steps the President has taken in the area of Agriculture to ensure that hunger, starvation and scarcity of food is thing of the past. Their positive feedback is the height of it and most intriguing part of the rally.
Lady Gloria Abiakam, the Head of Center during the sensitization rally, said President Bola Tinubu’s Administration had rolled out various socio- economic, and educational policies and reform programmes aimed at improving the wellbeing of the people.
This she highlighted to include building of infrastructure in various parts of the country, stabilizing the economy, provision of interest free loans to thousands of students in tertiary institutions of learning, grants to micro, small and medium scale businesses traders, as well as grants to poor and vulnerable groups including households.
”Our President Bola Tinubu Administration has put many programmes in place to better the lives of women, men , youths, traders, farmers, students, and every Nigerian” she said.
As many people willingly collected the fliers and gave us listening ears, there were few other people that expressed their feelings and concern, over what they described as tough economic situation in the country, and called on both the Federal and the State government to intensify efforts at alleviating their sufferings.
Commenting on the essence of the rally, the Head, Federal Information Centre Umuahia, said, ”We had a similar rally at about this time last year to sensitize Nigerians on the key priority areas of Government. This time around, we are having this rally to tell Nigerians the achievements of the present Administration led by President Bola Tinubu in the first two years in office’.’
”We told the people about the President’s determined efforts to ensure there is peace and security , food security , energy sufficiency and infrastructural development. Today, a lot has been achieved in the area of grants to farmers, and students interest free loans, with over 300, 000 students beneficiaries. Government has deemed it necessary to use the various offices of information Centres across the thirty six states and the Federal Capital Territory, to sensitize Nigerians on the laudable achievements of the President and make them noticeable” She reiterated.
