The Super Eagles of Nigeria have arrived in Bloemfontein, South Africa, ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against the Bafana Bafana, scheduled for Tuesday evening.
The Nigerian contingent, comprising 22 players, technical crew, and officials of NFF traveled via a chartered flight. They were warmly received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to South Africa and other dignitaries upon arrival.
Also on the delegation were representatives of the Federal Government, congress representatives, and media personnel, all rallying behind the national team in this decisive encounter.
Although striker Victor Osimhen has been ruled out due to injury sustained in Nigeria’s 1–0 victory over Rwanda, the team remains confident under the guidance of Head Coach, Chelle, who has continued to fine-tune strategies for victory.
The Chairman National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko and the Director General, National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade have expressed their unwavering support, assuring Nigerians that everything possible is being done to motivate and encourage the boys to deliver.
The entire nation awaits the showdown in Bloemfontein as millions of Nigerians at home and abroad eagerly look forward to a Super Eagles victory, which would brighten the country’s chances of booking a ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
As South Africa equally prepares to defend their home turf, the stage is set for a thrilling contest that promises to ignite passion and pride across the continent.
