As part of the official visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR to the Republic of Türkiye, the Federal Government is advancing discussions aimed at strengthening research-to-market pathways between both countries.
Speaking during the engagements held in Türkiye, the Honorable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Udeh, SAN emphasized the Federal Government’s determination to move beyond research for knowledge sake and focus on innovation that delivers measurable economic and social impact.
“Türkiye’s success in commercialising research through effective technology transfer and strong private-sector engagement provides valuable lessons for Nigeria,” he noted.
According to the Minister, Nigeria is developing a clear and actionable framework to support research-to-market pathways between both countries.
Udeh stated that the collaboration will prioritize joint research and development, innovation financing, capacity building, startup incubation, and industrial scale-up. These efforts are expected to strengthen Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem, promote industrialization, and enhance competitiveness in the global technology space.
He reiterated that the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration, which places innovation, science, and technology at the heart of economic diversification and sustainable development.
