Like quiet hands that steady the nation and faithful hearts that keep its promise alive, today we honour the dignity of labour and the enduring spirit of service. I extend warm solidarity to the Management and Staff of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, and our parastatal, the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development.
This year’s Workers’ Day finds us firmly aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, an Agenda that places people, productivity, and shared prosperity at its core. As a Ministry, we are central to this vision, advancing inclusion, strengthening families, and delivering social protection where it matters most.
I assure you: better days are not distant; they are being built. Through the Renewed Hope Social Impact Intervention (RHSII-) 774, we are scaling impact across all 774 Local Government Areas, expanding opportunities for empowerment, deepening community reach, and positioning our workforce at the frontline of measurable national transformation. In doing so, we remain clear that the welfare of our staff is not peripheral but fundamental, an essential pillar in achieving our mandate and sustaining the results we seek.
The declaration of 2026 as the Year of Families and Social Development is both a charge and a catalyst. It affirms our mandate, elevates our relevance, and unlocks new pathways for programme expansion, stronger partnerships, and greater institutional impact.
For you, the engine of this Ministry, this moment carries clear assurance: your welfare, growth, and productivity remain a priority. We will continue to strengthen capacity, improve working conditions, and build a more responsive and supportive system that enables you to perform at your best.
Let us therefore press forward; focused, disciplined, and united. The task is significant, but so is the promise before us. With renewed commitment, we will translate policy into impact and service into lasting national progress.
I thank you for your resilience, your professionalism, and your unwavering dedication. Your work gives life to hope and together, we will sustain it.
Happy Workers’ Day.
Hon. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, fsi
Honourable Minister
