FG Inaugurates Enugu LG Desk Officers For FarmerMoni

FIC Report (Enugu State) – The Federal Government has inaugurated Local Government Area Desk Officers for the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) in Enugu State to facilitate the registration of farmers for the FarmerMoni loan scheme.

Speaking during the inauguration, GEEP National Programme Manager, Mr. Hamza Baba, said the desk officers would help identify and register genuine farmers to benefit from the interest-free and collateral-free loans of up to N300,000.

He said the initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at boosting food security, empowering rural farmers and promoting economic growth.

Baba warned beneficiaries that the facility is a loan, not a grant, stressing that repayment would begin between six and nine months after disbursement.

Enugu State Commissioner for Human Development and Poverty Eradication, Prof. Benedette Okoli, described the programme as a major step toward poverty reduction and increased agricultural productivity in the state.

Also, Chairman of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria in the state, Mr. Emmanuel Eneh, commended the Federal Government and pledged that only genuine farmers would benefit from the scheme.
