2026 Eid-El-Kabir Celebration: Delta Police Command Deploy Officers To Strategic Locations

FIC Report (Delta State) – The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, acipm, mnips, has assured residents of the State, particularly Muslim faithful, of adequate security arrangements ahead of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration slated for Wednesday, 27th and Thursday, 28th May 2026.

According to a press statement by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP. Bright Edafe, the release is in line with the Command’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and hitch-free celebration.
He disclosed that the Commissioner of Police has ordered the massive deployment of personnel across the State.

The deployment he noted, comprises officers and men drawn from Area Commands, Tactical Teams, Divisions and other operational units to strategic locations, Eid prayer grounds, major highways, recreational centres and other vulnerable points.

The statement further disclosed that the Command will work in close collaboration with other security and safety agencies, including the Military, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the safety of residents and visitors throughout the festive period.

The Commissioner of Police also directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Tactical Commanders to intensify intelligence gathering, visibility policing, raids of criminal hideouts and black spots as well as stop-and-search operations where necessary including sustained patrols across their respective areas of responsibility.

These proactive measures the statement emphasized, were aimed at preventing criminal activities and ensuring that residents celebrate without fear or intimidation.

CP Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, acipm, mnips, warned criminal elements to steer clear of the State, assuring that the Command remains prepared to deal decisively with any threat to public peace and security.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious persons or activities through the Command Control Room on 08036684974.

The Commissioner of Police, on behalf of officers and men of the Command, wishes all Muslim faithful a peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration and urged residents to continue supporting security agencies, as security remains a collective responsibility.
