FIC Report (Ebonyi State) – Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to leveraging innovation, science, and technology as key drivers of economic growth and sustainable development in the state.
The governor made this known during a courtesy visit by the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Toochukwu Udeh (SAN), at the Government House, Abakaliki.
According to Governor Nwifuru, discussions during the meeting focused on fostering innovation, advancing scientific and technological development, and exploring strategic partnerships capable of accelerating economic transformation in Ebonyi State.
He noted that both parties examined areas of collaboration aimed at promoting youth empowerment, digital transformation, investment opportunities, and sustainable development initiatives that would improve the welfare of citizens and enhance the state’s competitiveness.
The governor emphasized that innovation and technology remain critical tools for improving governance and creating opportunities for the people, stressing that his administration is determined to position Ebonyi as a hub for progress, enterprise, and investment.
Nwifuru expressed optimism that stronger collaboration between the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology and the Ebonyi State Government would yield significant benefits for residents and contribute to national development goals.
He further stated that the partnership would open new frontiers for technological advancement, skills development, and innovation-driven solutions to societal challenges confronting the state.
The governor appreciated the minister for the visit and reiterated his readiness to work closely with the ministry in advancing policies and programmes that will foster inclusive growth and sustainable prosperity across Ebonyi State.
