FIC Report (Edo State) – The Chief Medical Director of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Professor Idia Ize-Iyamu, embarked on a collaborative visit to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Exploration and Production division on Tuesday June 9th, 2026 in Benin City, Edo State. The purpose of this engagement was to explore avenues for strategic partnership aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery within the region.
During the visit, Prof. Ize-Iyamu underscored UBTH’s reputation as a premier healthcare institution known for providing prompt, specialized, and patient-focused services. She highlighted the hospital’s numerous milestones and achievements over the years, emphasizing its capacity to serve Corporate Organizations and their employees effectively. The discussion centered on potential collaborative efforts to leverage UBTH’s expertise in delivering high-quality healthcare, thereby benefiting NNPC staff and the broader Community.
In response, Mr. Tosin Olakiigbe, the Executive Director of Business Services at NNPC Exploration and Production, expressed appreciation for UBTH’s proactive approach in seeking partnerships. He acknowledged the importance of such collaborations in improving healthcare accessibility and quality, especially within the South-South Geopolitical Zone.
