FIC Report (Delta State) – As part of his ongoing strategic familiarisation tour of Area Commands across Delta State, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, acipm, mnips, visited the Ogwashi-Uku Area Command, where he held separate interactive engagements with officers and men of the command and critical stakeholders, in furtherance of the policing vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM.
Addressing officers and men of the Ogwashi-Uku Area Command, the CP charged them to uphold the highest standards of discipline, professionalism, integrity, respect for human rights, and civility in their dealings with members of the public.
He laid particular emphasis on strict compliance with the Nigeria Police Force Social Media Policy, warning that officers must refrain from unauthorised online engagements, and any social media activity capable of bringing the Force into disrepute.
The CP further reiterated the Inspector-General of Police’s zero-tolerance stance on extortion, corruption, abuse of office, and all forms of unprofessional conduct, urging officers to remain committed to ethical, intelligence-driven, and community-oriented policing.
The visit culminated in a strategic stakeholders’ engagement and in attendance were, the Prime minister of ogwashi-uku kingdom representing the Obi of Ogwashi-uku, the Obi of Nsukwa, representatives of the Arewa, Yoruba and Igbo communities, the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), vigilante groups, community leaders, youth leaders, and other key stakeholders.
The CP emphasised that effective policing thrives on public trust, credible intelligence, and sustained collaboration, urging residents to continue supporting the Police with timely and actionable information.
The CP appreciated the stakeholders for their unwavering partnership and assured them of the Command’s unwavering commitment to proactive policing, intelligence-driven operations, and the protection of lives and property across Delta State.
