The newly appointed Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mr. Olumuyiwa Enitan Abel has charged the Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board (FGSHLB) to do everything possible to make housing loans more accessible and affordable to federal public servants.
The Head of Service gave the charge on Friday, 4th September, 2026, during a courtesy visit by the Management Team of FGSHLB, stressing the need for the Board to remove unnecessary bottlenecks, simplify its processes and explore innovative approaches that will enable more public servants to own decent homes.
The Executive Secretary of FGSHLB, Hajiya Salamatu Ladi Ahmed, thanked the Head of Service for the guidance and assured him that the Board would intensify its efforts to expand access to housing finance. “We have taken this charge very seriously. Our goal is to ensure that every eligible federal public servant who needs a housing loan can access it through a process that is simple, transparent, and responsive,” she said.
FGSHLB reaffirmed its commitment to working with relevant government agencies, financial institutions, and private-sector partners to provide sustainable and affordable housing solutions for federal public servants.
