FIC REPORT (ONDO STATE) – The Ondo State Government has reached an agreement with unions in the state-owned universities over the implementation of the Federal Government-ASUU salary structure and related allowances.
The agreement followed meetings between the government, led by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and representatives of ASUU, SSANU, NAAT and NASU.
Key resolutions include:
Full domestication of the Federal Government-ASUU agreement on the Consolidated University Academic Salary Structure (CONUASS) for academic staff.
Consideration of the peculiarities of Ondo State in implementing the agreement.
Attention to outstanding salary adjustments, allowances and staff welfare.
Government’s commitment to improving workers’ welfare and maintaining industrial harmony in the state’s tertiary institutions.
The agreement is significant as academic and non-academic unions in the three state-owned universities had been on a total and indefinite strike over unpaid allowances.
