FIC REPORT (KADUNA STATE) – The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, CON, has chaired and served as Special Guest of Honour at three major engagements organised by the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), in collaboration with the Kaduna State Government, to promote skills acquisition, technological innovation and economic empowerment.
The engagements comprised the groundbreaking ceremony of the NASENI Skill Development Centre, the launch of the NASENI Sustainable Empowerment Programme, and the commissioning of the NASCAV Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Training Facility.
The three initiatives underscore the commitment of the Federal Government and the Kaduna State Government to equipping citizens with practical skills, modern technology and economic opportunities that will improve livelihoods and contribute to national development.
Under the NASENI Sustainable Empowerment Programme, 500 beneficiaries drawn from the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State will receive solar home systems, clean cookstoves and financial assistance to support household welfare, improve access to clean energy and strengthen economic productivity.
The NASENI Skill Development Centre is expected to expand access to practical and vocational training, enabling more citizens, particularly young people, to acquire relevant technical skills and improve their employment and entrepreneurial prospects.
Similarly, the commissioning of the NASCAV UAV Training Facility marks an important step towards strengthening specialised technical education, research and innovation, with potential applications in agriculture and other critical sectors of the economy.
Governor Uba Sani expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his commitment to science, technology, skills development and economic empowerment, noting that the initiatives demonstrate how the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda can translate national development priorities into tangible opportunities for Nigerians at the grassroots.
He also commended NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman, Mr Khalil Suleiman Halilu, and the agency’s partners for their dedication to technological advancement, human capital development and the promotion of innovation-driven economic growth.
Sani welcomed the commendations received from stakeholders for the Kaduna State Government’s support in facilitating the implementation of the initiatives, describing the collaboration as evidence of the importance of sustained partnerships among the Federal Government, state governments, public institutions and the private sector.
According to the Governor, the success of the initiatives will ultimately be measured by their impact on the lives of citizens, the skills acquired by beneficiaries, and the growth of businesses and enterprises across the state.
He reaffirmed the Kaduna State Government’s commitment to promoting innovation, expanding economic participation and creating opportunities for young people to contribute meaningfully to the state’s development.
Governor Uba Sani emphasised that investments in skills, technology and sustainable empowerment must deliver lasting benefits to families and communities, while strengthening the capacity of citizens to build productive and sustainable livelihoods.
The three engagements represent a further step in the collaboration between NASENI and the Kaduna State Government to advance technological development, vocational training, clean energy adoption and inclusive economic growth in Kaduna State.
