The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, has declared open the 45th National Council of the Civil Service Commissions of the Federation in Asaba. Represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme PhD, the Governor described the theme – “Towards a Future-Ready Civil Service” – as timely and important.
He stressed that the Civil Service is the backbone of government. According to him, it translates policies into action and sustains public service delivery. Its effectiveness, he said, depends on strong institutions, competent personnel, and a culture of professionalism, integrity and accountability.
He added that as technology, especially Artificial Intelligence, reshapes governance, the Service must modernize, build relevant skills and adopt innovative approaches. He noted that through the MORE Agenda, Delta is investing in capacity building, digital transformation and staff welfare, and wished delegates fruitful deliberations.
