Abia Polytechnic donates 20 Semi Automated Hand Washing Machines, Sanitisers and Face masks produced by the Institution to the Abia COVID-19 Committee

The Chairman, Inter Ministerial Committee on Covid 19, Barrister Chris Ezem has challenged the Management of the Abia State Polytechnic, Aba to take the lead in technological research and produce items that will assist the State in the fight against the Covid 19 disease.
Barr. Ezem who was speaking while receiving on behalf of the Governor at the Aba Governor’s Lodge, 20 pieces of specialized semi automated hand washing machines, hundreds of bottles of hand sanitizers and 1000 face masks produced by the institution thanked the institution for the gesture.
He said that the State Government ernment was not leaving any stone unturned in fighting the disease in the state, adding that Abia is ready to nurse infected persons back to health.
Barr Ezem who is also the Secretary to Abia State Government disclosed that the machines will be deployed to ministries in the state to improve standards of hygiene.
He called on citizens and residents of the state to observe government guidelines on the prevention of the pandemic.
Earlier while handing over the items to the Governor, the Rector of the Abia polytechnic, Aba, Professor Ezionye Ebo said the donation is the instution’s way of assisting the state government in the fight against the corona virus disease.
He lauded Dr Ikpeazu’s concerted fight against the dreaded pandemic and pledged their support to the fight.
Prof Ebo sought the Governor’s approval for the commercial production of the semi automated hand washing machines.
The Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, Chairman of the Governing Board of the Abia State Polytechnic , Aba, Elder John Nwangborogwu, Registrar of the institution, Mrs Comfort Nwabughogu and other top management staff and Board members were present at the event.
